SEND

The SENDCo’s Role:

The SENDCo (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator) is a teacher who coordinates provision for children with additional needs that impact on their ability to learn. This can include:

– Observations
– Referrals to outside agencies
– Supporting class teachers and TAs with what provision can be put in place
– Organising support plan and MyPlan review meetings
– Helping with the EHCP (Educational, Health and Care Plan) process

Lound’s SENDCo is Louise Foster. You can contact her on lfoster@lound-inf.sheffield.sch.uk

Reviews

If your child in on the SEN register, they will have either a support plan, MyPlan or EHCP. These consist of outcomes that are specific to the child and are broken down into manageable steps to make progress. The plans are reviewed 3 times a year. It is important that parents or carers attend these review meetings as it is their opportunity to contribute ideas, thoughts and feelings towards their child’s educational provision.

If you have any questions or concerns about the special educational needs provision for your child at Lound, please contact our school SENDCo (Louise Foster).
